Dollie M. King passed on March 19, 2024, at the age of 88. Her early childhood was in Liberty Township, Ohio but her parents (the late Kenneth L. and Lela A. Merry) and siblings moved to Reading, Ohio in the 1940's. The sixth of eleven children, she is survived by her sister Carolyn M. Brown.
She is survived by her four children: Kathleen Fender, David W. King, Christopher King and Jennifer (Doug) Powell; five grandchildren: Jason Fender, Rachel (Sasha) Fender, Leela Glore, Erica (Chris) Rapp, and Tyler (Aimee Arthur) Powell; a great-grandchild: Kyle Rapp; sister-in- law Donna (Alan) Marsh, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Dollie worked for many years in restaurants which is where she met her husband of 57 years, David A. King, who passed away October 22, 2024. As a near lifelong resident of Reading, her passion was her children and reading. She enjoyed playing board and card games with her children.
