Deer Park Historian and former Deer Park City Council Woman - Ann Y. Poole, 94 of Deer Park born October 28, 1929 in Augusta, GA. On Friday, August 23, 2024 she joyously reunited with her husband of 50 years Bob, daughter Lisa, parents, 9 siblings and her beloved dog, Dixie. Beloved by Joni (Duane) Sanders & Penny (Dan) Hodge & son-in-law Dave Hogg. Loving Mee Maw of Jordan (Ashley), Elizabeth, Tyler, Maggie, & Haley (Will), GG to Liam, Oakley & Isla. Aunt Ann to several including Junior Lewallen (who called her every week for over 15 years).
After meeting her husband at a USO dance in Augusta, Ann moved to Deer Park which she fell in love with. She enjoyed sitting on the porch where many would stop for a chat. Ann loved her country and was proud to show her patriotism. She
was Deer Park's historian, served on city council, was involved in the schools and PTA and was an honorary member of the COBRA boat club. Ann wrote human interest stories for the loc
